“EMG” stands for electromyograph – a device PTIFA incorporates for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles when treating myofascial pain patients.

Botulinum Toxin (aka Botox/Dysport) has become a recognized treatment for craniofacial pain and TMD, however many practitioners are unaware of the importance of incorporating EMG analytics to improve diagnosis and treatment outcomes. In the Level 2 and Level 3 course, you will learn how EMG data is used to improve patient care by assisting with the diagnosis, dosage determination and injection timing using botulinum toxin.
